Maintenance

  • Only clean with clean sponges or rags;
  • Do not use steel wool, stiff-bristled brushes, rough, sandy or dirty materials;
  • Only use water and mild soap (on the glass). Do not use alcohol-based substances, bleaches, solvents or any other product with abrasive substances, as they could damage the plastic materials of the headlight, generating micro cracks, stains or loss of brightness;
  • Never touch the “mirrored” areas of the headlight, because this could cause stains due to the grease, sweat and acidity existing naturally on the hands, which could impair the headlight’s performance;
  • We recommend not using pressurized water (with a high pressure device) on the back of the headlights, where the bulbs and rubber protectors are located. If unavoidable, protect the rubber protectors, sockets and vents (e.g. with plastic) to prevent unwanted water from getting inside the headlight.

Never start the engine using a battery charger. This will damage the electronic components.

Checking the periods indicated in this manual, retighten the fixing screws and nuts from the several supports and components from the bus body.

Main items screws and nuts torque are indicated in the retighten table.About the screws, nuts, brackets and connections not related to the retighten table, their firm fixing must be checked and if necessary, they must be retightened.

NOTE: The wheel screws must be retightened after the first 30 km, and then according to the builder’s chassis manual.

1- Remove stains from the flooring or from internal covering using a wet cloth and detergent and neutral soap.
2- In order to keep and maintain the seat covers well, it is necessary to do the following:
There are two types of dirtiness to be taken into account:
1º) Occurrences from user or mounter man, having dust, fiber from clothes and normal environment:
Those cases, it is recommended to apply a vacuum cleaner and a soft brush and/or cotton cloth. A little dust and fibers, or can apply the vacuum cleaner. On the other hand, heavy dust and fibers can be simultaneously cleaned with vacuum cleaner and soft brush or spreading a cotton cloth onto the same direction of pictures (fur).

2º) Occurrences that we consider special such as liquid split out, cream, greases and etc.
This case, you need to remove the excess from the fabric/cover.

Therefore, for those type of materials that is almost bonded and sticked to it, hold a spatula covered with a cotton fabric or towel paper. For liquid and oil dirtiness, hold a cotton cloth or towel paper to absorb the material.
Holding water (cold or warm +/-40°C) and neutral detergent, make foam and apply it onto the stain.

Holding a sponge, press the local in order to remove some dirt fabric furs, spreading out the detergent so it can attack to clean off the stain.
After this removal, repeat this operation with a wet sponge or a wet cotton cloth. So, you will remove the detergent off to not cause any other stain.
No way, cover sets must not be washed in washing machines, it can diminish the endurance of them. Making the sponge damaged. You must avoid hold steam machines to clean it up as well.
3- Clean the rest of the vehicle interior area with a wet cloth and a vacuum appliance.

With the help of auxiliary cables, the uncharged battery vehicle’s engine could be started, transferring energy of another vehicle’s battery. This must be made taking care and complying with the instructions below.

ATTENTION: The non-accomplish of this instructions could cause damages to the vehicles and personal damages resulting from the battery explosion, such as the electric installation burn.

Execute the operations in the indicated sequence:
1- Check if the start auxiliary battery is from the same voltage that the battery from the vehicle such engine must be turned on.

2- During the start operation, do not stay close to the battery.

3- Being the auxiliary battery in another vehicle, do not let the vehicles touch each other.

4- Check if the auxiliary cables do not show looseness or missing isolations.

5- Do not allow the cable terminals to enter in contact to each other or with vehicle’s metallic parts.

6- Turn of the ignition and every electric circuit that do not need to stay turned on.

NOTE: If the radio is turned on, it could be seriously damaged. The repairs are not covered by warranty.

7- Locate in the batteries the positive (+) and negative/ ground (-) terminals.

8- Connect the cables in the indicated sequence:
+ With +: Positive auxiliary battery pole with uncharged positive battery Pole.
– with -: ground pole from auxiliar battery connected with ground pole from discharged battery.

NOTE: Never use the vehicle structure as a natural ground (GND) point.

9- Start the uncharged battery vehicle’s engine. If the engine does not start after some attempts, probably there
will be repair necessity.

10- In order to untie the cables, proceed exactly in the reverse joining order.

NOTE: The engine of the vehicles that provides the auxiliary start must stay working during the start.

Do as per follow bellow:
1- The glass panes shall be cleaned preferentially with products based on alcohol and ammoniac. Just in case of lack, you can use saponaceous water based on common
soap, spreading all over the pane with a cloth until it gets clean.

2- Wash the glass pane gutter with a brush, after you can apply a little talc (magnesium silicate) or graphite powder.

3- Clean the rubber fittings, using silicon wet clean cloth or a composition of equal parts of alcohol and glycerin.

The following recommendations are used in order to prevent environment damages, which the vehicle is submitted to.

External Cleaning Task

Painting conservation and maintenance of bus body are consisted of washing and polishing, its frequency depends on how much the vehicle is running.

The following instructions have been written intending to keep and give longer life to the bus body painting.

There are two washing process: manual and automatic, their steps are very similar, and both are important:

1- Pre washing;
2- Shampoo application;
3- Brushing;
4- Wash up.

General recommendation – shall take care and obey some topics when washing the bus:

Please clean the bus up under shadow;

Do not wash it when the bus sheets/external panels are hot, it can cause ink/paint fissures;

If it is necessary wash up the engine, be sure that engine is not hot;

Spray water without solid so scratches can’t appear; just in case you are spraying recycled water, then first you need to remove the solid dust through filters;

Spray water and special shampoos, with neutral pH (between 6,5 and 7,5); you can check pH level measuring with a potentiometer or universal paper. We recommend a Silicon shampoo application to highlight the bus body shine;

It is recommended silicone wax application every six months.

1- Pre washing – consists of a water jet application over the bus body, strong enough to remove dust (powder, sand coarse), so that dust will not scratch the painting.

2- and 3- Shampoo application and brushing – after you have removed the dirtiness, you can apply shampoo (liquid or foam) then brush the bus body. This brushing task can be manual or automatic.

Manual process is fundamental to wash its roof, where dust stays (painting wearing out – erosion). Among pollution environment, several particles from sulphuric dioxide air, carbonic gas, and nitrogen oxides (they react with air humidity and raining water, resulting in what we call acid rain).

To avoid scratches on the painting, the bristle of the brush must be soft, or you can clean with sift brooms.

Automatic process is fundamental to be well adjusted. Otherwise, it can press excessively the bi roll on the bus body, causing scratches on the body and on the glass panes; if the big rolls do not press enough, washing will be badly done.

If the bristle rolls are dirty fully, they can scratch the painting.

4- Wash up – After brushing, you can wash the bus body up ( manual water spray machine), removing shampoo off. Bus body can be dried spraying an air spray.

Special Recommendation

Bird’s dust must be cleaned immediately with neutral shampoo and a lot of water;

In order to remove asphalt drops on and grease, please remove them applying Axalta cleaning 11242002/85 or turpentine or kerosene, right after, wash the spot with a lot of water and shampoo, then you can polish;

Risks and dust in the paint, any stone splinter, crack or deep scratch in the finishing paint, must be immediately repaired in order not to damage spread the next paint, as the any metal undergoes accelerated corrosion.

Insects on the body must be removed with neutral shampoo and warm water; the same procedure must
be done from vegetal resin stain from trees.

In order to avoid damages to electronic parts from the electric installation, you must not turn off the battery while the engine is working.

Never start the engine when the battery is turned off. When a charge is done, untie the battery to the vehicle. First, untie the negative/ground cable and after the positive.

Be careful to NOT change the cables position. When you tie again, install first the positive cable and after the negative.

1- Wash the vehicle frequently and keep it in a garage.

2- Just in case the bus works in the coast line, or where it suffers from sanding and salt, you must wash the bus every time you finish after a working day. Saltwater and other corrosive agents can accelerate early corrosion and deteriorate metal parts and vehicle underneath, such as metal panels, cable ties and others. In addition, fragments of soil, mud and compacted soil in the stone deflector cause moisture. To reduce damage, wash the vehicle underneath periodically to dispose those materials.

3- To remove dirtiness from the lower area of the vehicle, protect previously the brake system rubbers and other rubbers.

Before performing electrical welding on any part of the vehicle, disconnect the battery cables and connectors from the electronic modules and dasboard to prevent damage to these components.

Make sure the ground wire of the welding equipment is directly on the component to be welded.

Do not perform electrical welding near the electronic module, actuators, sensors and electrical harnesses. Remove each of these components if welding is required.

Low Headlight – With the vehicle parked in front of a wall, 10 meters away, adjust horizontal light beam to the same distance than the headlights are mounted, that is, the distance between left and right low beam must be the same distance to the beam projected to the wall 10 meters away.

High beam – With the vehicle parked in front of a wall, 10 meters away, adjust light beam in such way that the light beam center is placed between horizontal and tilt beams (Fig.6).

We would like to provide you with guidance on the use of carpets with wood print from the supplier Gerflor. The option of this type of carpet requires greater care and maintenance related to water exposure. These materials receive a transparent film on their surface whose function is to protect the print and increase resistance to wear and tear.

A whitish patch appearance on the carpet may appear in the event of long exposure to stagnant water, under or over the coating. This staining aspect is reversible and does not alter its technical characteristics in any way. The carpet returns to its normal appearance after being exposed to the sun or another heat source. To speed up this drying process, it is suggested to use a thermal blower at a minimum distance of 10 cm, with a temperature between 50°C and 150°C

BASIC MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Remove particles and dust with an industrial vacuum cleaner;
  • Wash the carpet with water and neutral liquid detergent;
  • Avoid using a high-pressure water appliance;
  • Avoid stagnant water for long periods;
  • If you use runners or mats on the carpet, it is important for them to be dry.
